Rigid 10K Resin — Glass-Filled Stiffness for Industrial Parts
Rigid 10K Resin is the stiffest material in our SLA range — a highly glass-filled engineering resin that behaves like glass- and fibre-filled thermoplastics. It is strong, completely rigid, and dimensionally stable under load.
Printed on our Formlabs printers, Rigid 10K reaches an 11 GPa tensile modulus, 88 MPa tensile strength, and an exceptional 238 °C heat deflection temperature, with high chemical resistance and a smooth matte finish. With only 1.7% elongation it does not bend — it holds its shape.
Rigid 10K is ideal for short-run injection mould masters and inserts, heat- and fluid-exposed components, jigs and fixtures, and aerodynamic test models — often faster and easier than milling aluminium or steel. Upload your model to our instant calculator for a Rigid 10K price in seconds.
Properties
Advantages
- +Extremely stiff — the most rigid resin we offer
- +Outstanding heat resistance (238 °C HDT)
- +High thermal and chemical resistance
- +Dimensionally stable under load and pressure
- +Smooth matte surface with precise detail
Disadvantages
- −Very low elongation (1.7%) — brittle, with no flex
- −Not suitable for parts that must bend or absorb impact
- −Requires washing and UV post-curing
- −Highest-cost resin in our range
Use Cases
- Short-run injection mould masters and inserts
- Heat-resistant and fluid-exposed components
- Jigs and fixtures for demanding environments
