Reverse engineering
Have a part with no CAD? We scan it with a Creaform HandySCAN BLACK+|Elite™ and rebuild a printable model.
What reverse engineering means
If you have a broken spare, a legacy mechanical part, or a prototype with no digital source, we can rebuild it. The HandySCAN captures millions of points from the object's surface at 0.025 mm accuracy; we then reconstruct clean, editable geometry (STEP or mesh) that can be printed, modified, or archived.
When it helps
Out-of-production components for machinery, appliances, or vintage vehicles where OEM supply is long gone.
Brackets, mounts, and enclosures that need to match an existing surface exactly on the first try.
Jigs and fixtures with no drawings — scan the part, recover the geometry, modernise the design.
Compare a manufactured part against its original CAD to verify tolerances and detect warpage.
How it works
Drop it off at our workshop or ship it insured. For sensitive parts we can sign an NDA first.
Portable, dynamic referencing — no fixed tripod. Works on-site if the part can't be moved.
We decimate the point cloud, align it, and rebuild parametric CAD or deliver a watertight mesh — your choice.
STEP, STL, or 3MF by email. If you want, we print the first revision on the same platform.
The scanner
The industry reference for portable, high-accuracy metrology. Used in aerospace, automotive, and heavy industry QC.
